Les Impressionnistes: Film et mini-conférence

This private talk reviewed the work of Contemporary Artist Noriko Ambe whose acclaimed paper cutting and book sculptures have prompted her to embark on the remarkable project (Un)filtered Reflections exhibited at Aloft at Hermes, challenging herself to produce a new body of work in collaboration with students from Japan and Singapore.

This session examines a group of young artists whose experiments with colour and light, beginning in the 1860’s transformed art styles, subjects and techniques that gradually broke with traditional standards and forever changed the way we perceived painting and continue to influence today’s Contemporary Art.

The Impressionists and the man who made film provides a vibrant picture of these Impressionist masters and the art dealer, Paul Durand-Ruel who gave them life to last a time beyond. Treasures and highlights from Impressionist collections from all around the world are captured in detail while providing expert analysis by special guests.
