From Modern to Contemporary Art - A Short Series

From the birth of Impressionism to the Avant-Garde experiments and beyond, this four-session series explores the exciting Art History of 19th and 20th Century Art. The radical and revolutionary Art Movements changed the ways in which Art is viewed and laid the foundations for today’s Contemporary Art.

Based on selected artists, styles and contextualized images, the introductory survey is designed to provide a broad understanding of the development of Western Art History during a span of more than 100 years. Among the many favorite artists featured in this lecture series are: Manet, Cézanne, Van Gogh, Matisse, Picasso, Duchamp, Magritte, Kosuth.

Suitable for art enthusiasts and/or the general public, the lectures enable participants to better understand and appreciate Art and to make sense of the many approaches that encompasses the Art of our contemporary world.
